Mark your calendars for October 18, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, for the Jesup Train Day Festival. This family-friendly event celebrates the rich history of trains in our community with a host of activities:
Model Trains and Local History Display: Explore model train setups and learn about the local history of railroads inside the depot community room.
Trackless Train Ride: Enjoy a delightful ride around the depot area.
Children’s Play Area: Visit Thomas the Train and see a Disney Celebration Lego train being assembled. Train tables are all for kids to have hands-on fun with but grownups are asked not to let the kids take train pieces with them.
Story Time with Edna Ruth Williamson: Gather around at 10:30 AM for “Tootle” to be read by Edna Ruth Williamson.
Ask Andy the Engineer: At 1:30 PM, kids can ask questions and learn from Andy the Engineer, a real-life train engineer.
Three railfan areas with radios are available for railfans to watch and hear the many trains that come through Jesup. **Please note – hearing protection is recommended for small children.**
StoryWalk on NW Broad Street – “Pete the Cat’s Train Trip”
